“A saree carries the woman who wore it. When it comes apart and gets put back together as something new, it carries her forward.”Satya, founder
Started in a Saskatoon kitchen. Stitched in a Jaipur atelier. Worn in Minneapolis, Portland, Saratoga Springs, and Seattle.
She wanted to stop throwing her grandmother’s sarees into a trunk every time she moved.
Satya grew up in Hyderabad, moved to Canada in 2003, and carried three sarees with her. They were beautiful. They were also six yards of fabric that nobody in Saskatoon was going to wrap around themselves on a Tuesday.
In 2019, she took one of them to a local seamstress and asked for a wrap skirt. The skirt came back. Friends asked where it was from. Two of them asked if she could make them one. She said yes.
By 2021, Rangeelaa was a name, a small atelier in Jaipur, and a Facebook group of 150 women who kept asking for more. Today we ship across North America, and Satya still personally packs every order.

From sourcing the saree in Jaipur to steaming the finished piece in our Saskatoon studio, every step is slow by design.
Our team in Jaipur visits family homes, estate sales, and textile markets. Each saree is inspected for fiber, weave, and story before we bring it in.
Our pattern maker lays each saree flat and draws around the sections worth saving. Damaged panels are trimmed, not hidden.
Tailors in Jaipur sew each piece by hand. A dress takes four to six hours. A wrap skirt takes two to three.
Pieces land in Saskatoon for steaming, final inspection, and photography. Satya personally packs every order.
